Samsung Embracing Magnetic Qi2 Charging with Galaxy S26 Accessories

Samsung is gearing up for a major leap in wireless charging quality and convenience as it prepares the upcoming Galaxy S26 series — and its new magnetic charging accessories may redefine how Galaxy users power up.

Recent reports reveal that Samsung is developing a first-party magnetic wireless charger (model name reportedly Samsung Magnetic Wireless Charger, code “EP-P2900") designed to support Qi2 magnetic wireless charging at up to 25W.
If true, this would represent a substantial upgrade: historically, Samsung’s Qi2-compatible accessories were limited to 15W wireless charging.

The magnetic charger is designed to snap onto the back of the phone — aligning perfectly with the internal coil to ensure efficient, stable charging.
This magnet-based alignment helps avoid the common pitfalls of misplacement: inefficient charging, heat buildup, or dropped connection. For many users, this translates to a more seamless, worry-free charging experience — whether at a desk, on a nightstand, or in a car.

Moreover, Samsung isn’t stopping at chargers. According to filings in the Wireless Power Consortium database, Samsung has also registered a magnetic wireless battery pack for the S26 series (model: Samsung Magnetic Wireless Battery Pack, code “EB-U2500").
While the initial wireless output is listed as 15W (which matches current Qi2 norms), the fact that Samsung is expanding into magnet-based power banks suggests a broader ecosystem push: on-the-go charging that’s as simple as snapping on a battery pack.

Taken together, these developments position Samsung’s S26 series as a serious contender in the magnetic wireless charging space — offering flexibility, convenience, and faster charging to users who long valued those aspects on other platforms.

For users who have juggled multiple chargers, tangled cables, and inconsistent wireless charging, Samsung’s imminent Qi2 magnetic accessories could mark a big step toward a more unified, cable-free charging future.
